Fall Canal Walks 2025

Fall Canal Walks 2025

Join the Friends on three consecutive Saturdays in October as we walk from Washington Crossing to the historic borough of Bristol.

towpath and fall leavesThese three walks will take us through some of the most interesting sections of the Delaware Canal State Park. We will learn about the industrial history of the southern area of the towpath and recent improvements to connect the park with the community.

Each walk will cover over 5 miles, offering you a unique opportunity to learn about the area’s past and future while enjoying the autumn scenery of the Canal and Delaware River corridor.

Jeff Connell, a seasoned guide, will lead the group and share stories about the Delaware Canal, highlighting sites of historical and environmental significance along the route.

The three segments of the Canal Walk are:

  • Saturday, October 4 – Washington Crossing South (Route 532) to Black Rock Road, Yardley, PA – 5.6 miles
  • Saturday, October 11 – Black Rock Road to Falls Township Park, Levittown, PA – 6.6 Miles
  • Saturday, October 18 – Falls Township Park, Levittown to Bristol Riverfront Park, Bristol, PA – 5.6 miles

The walks begin at 9:00 A.M. We will meet at the end point at 8:15 A.M. to carpool walkers up to the starting point.

Bring water, a snack and wear comfortable shoes. These adventures are free; however, a $10 donation is gratefully accepted.

And, we encourage you to bring a friend!
