Canal Walk 2023
Starting on Saturday, September 30th a tradition continues!
The Friends of the Delaware Canal will embark on their 35th annual Canal Walk beginning on September 30, 2023. Nearly the entire course of the Canal will be explored over the course of five Saturdays. The guided walking tour will begin at the Riverfront Park in Historic Bristol Borough and end at Muller’s in Easton. We will be unble to walk the last few miles to the Forks of the Delaware River due to towpath closures for repair work.
This year Canal Walk 2023 will be a bit shorter than the traditional 58.9 miles because of some towpath closures along the way. However, hikers will have the same opportunity to learn about the area’s past and future while taking in the autumn scenery of the Canal and Delaware River corridor. Jeff Connell will lead the group with stories about the Delaware Canal highlighting sites of historic and environmental significance along the route.
