If you would like to be put on the waiting list for this event, please call the Friends at 215-862-2021.
The Friends and Delaware Canal State Park naturalist Katie Martens offers this opportunity to paddle through the always lovely, critter-abundant, and historic wide waters south of Black Rock Road. For 100 years, mule-drawn boats laden with coal used this area to pull off out of the mainstream of Canal traffic.
The Park will have 10 single kayaks and two tandem kayaks to loan, equipped with PFDs and paddles. If you have paddled with us in 2024, please allow others to take advantage of this limited opportunity.
PLEASE NOTE
- There is a maximum of 14 participants for this paddle.
- The minimum age to participate in this program is 10.
- Anyone under 15 must be in a tandem kayak with an adult.
A $10 per boat donation is requested, payable on the day of the event. Reservations are accepted on a first-come-first-served basis. If water levels change prior to the paddle date, the location will change to the Giving Pond in Upper Black Eddy.
