Please join the Friends for our annual signature event in Easton, PA and discover the rich history of this city with a deep connection to the Delaware and Lehigh rivers and canals.
OUR SHUTTLE BUS TOUR OF EASTON WILL INCLUDE:
- The Guard Lock of the Delaware Canal:Â The Guard Lock is the terminus of the Delaware Canal and once allowed canal boats to traverse from the Lehigh River to the Delaware on their journey from Mount Summit, PA to Philadelphia. Here you will learn about our enhanced visitor experience for the site through our 2032 Plan for the Delaware Canal.
- National Canal Museum: We will explore the museum run by the Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor and learn about the early days of the canal. Learn about the coal industry of the time and how it shaped the canal network in Pennsylvania. We will also have the opportunity to experience some of the museum’s canal collection.
- Historic Houses Tour: We will tour two historic properties in Easton, learn about their history and the important role the Canal played in the growth of the city.
