Delaware Canal Clean-Up Day - April 17th
Hundreds of volunteers turned out to give the Canal its
annual spring cleaning.

The volunteers from Traditions in Washington Crossing
covered a 3.3 mile stretch.

This crew worked on the stretch from Phillips’ Mill to
Rabbit Run Bridge in New Hope.

Smithtown crew gathers before heading out for clean-up
from Tinicum Aqueduct south to Bridge Two.

The boys, trash-picking tool in hand, snag some bottles from
the reeds south of Bridge 2 in Point Pleasant while the rest
of the crew check out the process and are ready with a trash bag.

In search of
trash on the towpath approaching the
Levittown Center.

A Triumph
over Trash.

"Faces and Places was so classy, so informative, so much fun. I would have to say it was the best-ever Friends event in my experience."

Program - "Promoting the Preservation of the Delaware Canal - 1930's Style

On September 9th, 165 people assembled at the David Library of the American Revolution for the Friends' program "Promoting the Preservation of the Delaware Canal - 1930's Style." The capacity + crowd was entranced by the two black and white, silent films shown by Lance Metz, Historian at the National Canal Museum in Easton.

Lance Metz shared a bit of his encyclopedic knowledge about the Delaware Canal while making sure that the rare films made it safely through the 16 mm projector.

Marie Murphy Duess was on hand to sign her new book, The Delaware Canal - From Stone Coal Highway to Historic Landmark.
